Joyce Yueyi Xing 邢乐怡 is a Chinese creative producer working between New York, Hong Kong, and her native Hangzhou. She holds an MFA in Film Creative Producing from Columbia University and a BS in Neuroscience from UCLA, and was selected for SIFF NEXT 2025. Before focusing on producing, she worked as a copywriter at international advertising agencies and in commercial and arthouse film distribution in Beijing and New York.
Spanning narrative, documentary, video arts, and fashion, her work has screened at prestigious film festivals including Cannes, Venice, Busan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Tribeca; been featured in VOGUE, NOWNESS, and SHOWstudio; and received support from Biennale College Cinema, TAICCA, the Sloan Foundation, and the NYC Women’s Fund.
Through her US company, Osmanthus Studios, and her Hong Kong company, Alien Makes Film, she produces audiovisual work centered on underrepresented voices and seeks innovative approaches to independent cinema that encourage critical thinking about our zeitgeist and carry high artistic ambition.
Alongside producing, she enjoys Chinese–English subtitling and still photography, especially with her beloved Hasselblad X1D II or Leica Q2 Monochrom in hand.

Possibly too much information
Once a neuroscience major in college, I still read books and papers about neuroscience research for fun.
I like to assist the costume and art departments because I love steaming clothes and assembling furniture.
My personal cameras are not good for video recording. A questionable choice for someone working in film.
I love sunsets and cats.
